Temple Contains Mystery Leak Statue in Tabanan, Bali

Bali is known as the Island of Thousand Temples. Indeed, it is not difficult to find a temple there. But, there is an unusual temple in Tabanan. The temple contains creepy Leak statues. You know?

Yeh Gangga Beach

One day I intend to visit the beach named Yeh Gangga is located in the area of Tabanan, Bali. The beach is not very attractive, black sandy and hot, but there is a large stone that makes it unique.

Then, from there we moved to the east coast. In it there is a green hill and small waterfalls.

Having tired of enjoying the hills and waterfalls, we went to the east coast again. There are rocks towering like a miniature temple at Tanah Lot. However, to get there the traveler must cross the river deep enough.

Leak Statue

It turns out that there is no vehicle lane. We also reversed course and returned to the temple in the pathway. Motorcycle in the parking lot, there are stairs carved snake.

Right at the end of the stairs, there are two statues each on the right and left sides. Both are creepy, long hair, long nails, fangs, and tongue were too long, just like Leak often told the people of Bali.

In Balinese mythology, Leak is the wicked witch. The word 'Le' has the meaning witches and 'ak' would mean evil.

Out of curiosity, we also entered the temple area. In it turns out there are also several other unique sculptures. Unfortunately, no information on the name of the temple. When meeting someone, we also asked the name of the temple but no answer.

Perhaps no one knows? Honestly my own instead of the Hindu religion and not the original people of Bali. It was also the first time I saw the temple with the ornament statue Leak.
